Safeguarding
Keeping participants, mentors, young people and partners safe is part of everything we do.
Lagits CIC has a designated safeguarding lead on its board and builds safeguarding into every part of the pathway.
Our commitments
- A risk assessment for every referral, agreed with the referrer, before group work or mentor matching
- Separate provision for under-18s, who are never placed in adult groups unsupervised
- Induction, a code of conduct, boundaries and lone-working policies for every mentor, with checks where a role requires them
- Clear incident reporting, data protection and confidentiality procedures
- Mentors work alongside, never in place of, a participant's statutory support
