Changing direction starts before release. We bring mentors with lived experience and real business owners into open and resettlement prisons, and start the pathway on the inside.

Lagits mentors and business owners with convictions share how they built a lawful income, honestly, including what went wrong.
Afternoon
Idea sessions
Small groups and one-to-ones on what each person could start, using the skills they already have.

Start before release
Residents who want to continue join the pathway, so their business plan starts months before release.
Day release
Workshops outside
Residents on release on temporary licence (ROTL) can attend workshops in Clapham in person.
For prisons and probation
Working with your employment team
- Delivered with the prison's employment hub or Employment Advisory Board
- Lagits mentors are vetted and approved by the governor before they go in
- Talks, idea sessions and sign-up, all in a single day
- A clear handover: the same mentor inside and after release
Started inside? Carry on outside.
Anyone who joined the pathway at an enterprise day keeps the same mentor after release. Probation officers can refer at any point.
